Liverpool FC invite 15,000 fans for exclusive free test matches at Anfield

As Anfield’s stunning new grandstand project nears completion, the club will open its doors next week to fans wanting to get the ‘first look’ inside the redeveloped Main Stand.

Liverpool FC are offering up 15,000 tickets to supporters to gain exclusive access to two free test events on 26th and 29th August, which will see Liverpool Academy and Ladies players testing out the new surroundings.

In addition to entertainment in the new concourse, fans will also be served a sampling of the new matchday menu as they take part in the safety certification process ensuring the venue is ready for the first home game.

Andrew Parkinson, operations director at LFC, was quoted on the club’s site: “We’re delighted to be able to give fans and local residents an opportunity to get a first look inside the Main Stand before we host our first game. An incredible amount of work has been undertaken to deliver this world-class facility for our fans and completing the safety certification process is an important part of those preparations.”

The finishing touches are now being put on the redevelopment as the eternal flame and Hillsborough memorial were yesterday moved to a new home in the Main Stand in a “specially designed colonnade”.

The latest updates on the impressive project come as excitement mounts for TheStadiumBusiness Design & Development Summit 2016 (31 Oct-2 Nov). Registered delegates for the Summit’s kick-off ‘Merseyside Derby’ day will be treated to a private, all-access tour of the redeveloped home of the Reds, and a chance to meet the project team on 31 October.

Earlybird passes for the Summit and Merseyside Derby tour tickets are still available. Join the world’s leading gathering of stadium projects here.
