Ahead of TheStadiumBusiness Design & Development Summit 2022, we caught up with Alain Belsoeur, head of the stadia committee at France’s Professional Football League (LFP)…

Belsoeur has been at the LFP for almost 10 years, having joined from Le Havre in January 2013. He also serves as president of SNAAF (Syndicat National des Administratifs et Assimilés du Football).

SNAAF works to preserve and protect the rights of football administrators. The body has more than 45 years of experience and expertise, and counts 2,000 club employees among its members.

TheStadiumBusiness: What’s exciting you in the field of stadium design at present?

Alain Belsoeur: “As chairman of the stadia committee of the LFP, all projects of renovation or new stadia in the world are of interest to me.”

TSB: What’s in the pipeline for the LFP over the next six to 12 months?

AB: “The target of our committee is to help our football to improve in terms of facilities. Having better facilities will help bring more people to our games since it will improve the spectators’ experience which is a key issue in our country.”

TSB: What are you most looking forward to about the Summit?

AB: “Getting information about what is going on in the world in terms of stadia and meeting people who can improve my knowledge in terms of facilities development.”
