Liverpool mayor confident Everton will see new stadium within 2 years

After Walton Hall Park plans were dropped in May, a meeting has now been held to discuss the possibilities of replacing Everton’s home ground – and Liverpool Mayor, Joe Anderson, is optimistic that the Blues could see a new stadium within 2 years.

The Liverpool Echo yesterday reported that Anderson held a meeting with Farhad Moshiri – the club’s biggest shareholder. The Mayor tweeted an image of the meeting with the caption:

“Great meeting with Farhad. Still believe a new stadium in 2 yrs is achievable. #COYB “.

The club is currently considering a docklands-based site or on land at Stonebridge Cross after Walton Hall Park plans fell through.

The news comes after recent reports of a confimed new makeover at Goodison Park, and a council-funded ‘mini stadium‘ at Finch Farm for the club’s academy teams.

Registered attendees of TheStadiumBusiness Design & Development Summit 2016 will tour the Goodison Park makeover, as well as Anfield’s stunning new granstand on 31 Oct.

Limited places still available – get in touch for more info.
