In the lead up to The Championships, #TDS16 sponsors, KSS, release brand new visuals of the No.1 Court Project at Wimbledon, appointed to them last Summer.
The court upgrades, including a new fixed and bespoke retractable roof, aim to provide uninterrupted play during The Championships as the entire playing surface will have the option of being sheltered.
The release forms part of the wider Wimbledon Master Plan – with work due to commence in July 2016 – and is to include an additional 900 seats (taking the overall capacity to over 12,000), a new public plaza in the place of Court 19, and 15 brand new hospitality suites on a completely remodelled level.
With 45 days until the The Championships begin, the plans confirm AELTC’s continued commitment to enhancing the environment and spectator experience and cementing an exciting future for tennis.
