Twickenham’s new East Stand designs released
A few short weeks after being crowned ‘Venue of the Year 2016’ at TheStadiumBusiness Awards, RFU last week released the designs for the East Stand expansion at Twickenham Stadium.
The home of England Rugby is the largest stadium in the world dedicated to the sport and currently holds 82,000. The plans aim to increase the hospitality and public facilities space by 10,750sqm, upholding their “objective to fuel growth of the game at every level”.
Lead designers, and #TDS16 sponsors, KSS are managing the extension after already completing major refurbishments of the players’ areas, VIP hospitality, the Royal Box area and the new restyled players’ tunnel in recent years.
KSS reported: “Our latest work with the RFU will further improve the overall appearance of Twickenham Stadium ensuring it remains a first class venue.”
Subject to planning approval, works are expected to be completed by autumn 2018. See original article here.
