Project Preview: SV Zulte Waregem – Two Projects in One

Belgian Pro League Outfit SV Zulte Waregem, commonly known as Essevee, is one of the latest projects to confirm its attendance at TheStadiumBusiness Design & Development Summit 2015 (20-21 October, London).

Not only are they pressing ahead with €25 million redevelopment plans for Regenboogstadion, (its 10,000+ seater home) but also building a brand new elite training complex which will include all of the latest amenities.

“One new grandstand is already standing and the next should be ready by September” says Tyas Kastelijn, Business Development at SV Zulte Waregem.

“The structure was granted approval last week by the city council, which means work can now begin,” he added.

The new North End stand will hold 1,400 standing places, (which can be converted to seats for UEFA games) for the more vocal of its fans.

The third phase of the project (the East Stand redevelopment) is expected to be launched in 2016 and the last element will be the West Grandstand, which is scheduled for completion in 2017.

In total, renovation work is expected to cost in the region of €25 million for the stadium.

Training Complex

The new training complex will become the new base for the first team players.

It will include a gym with running track outside, a doctor’s office, a dormitory and much more. The other side of the building will be used for offices, locker rooms for the youth team players, an auditorium to discuss tactics and a public cafeteria with large terrace.
